On this page
DashNex credits are the prepaid balance your business spends on everything it uses: hosting, email, AI and payment fees. There is no plan or seat price, so your monthly cost is simply your usage. Our advice: switch on auto top-up early, then read your own Transactions report after 30 days before you set a budget.
When to use this guide, and when not to#
Use it when:
- You are about to launch on DashNex and want to know what it costs to run.
- Your balance dropped faster than expected and you want to see where it went.
- You are setting auto top-up for yourself or a client.
- You are comparing DashNex with a monthly-plan platform and need a fair monthly number.
Skip it when:
- You want card fees for your customers. That depends on your processor (DashNex MoR or Stripe Standard), a separate decision.
- You need exact hosting rates. DashNex bills cloud use at Cloudflare's own rates, so check current pricing there.
- You are still deciding whether DashNex fits at all. Start with our DashNex review.
What you need first#
- A DashNex account and a launched business.
- A payment card you can save under Credits → Billing.
- Owner access to the business dashboard.
- About 30 days of normal activity for a reliable monthly figure.
What credits pay for#

Credits are the meter for the whole app. The Credits & Top-ups page lists what draws on them: hosting and compute, storage and bandwidth, email sending, AI agent usage and transaction processing. Cloud use for a period appears as one line, Cloud services, which opens into four parts: infrastructure, AI usage, storage and email.
The DashNex pricing page explains the rest. You pay $5 once to launch, which is 500 credits. Cloud use is charged at Cloudflare's pricing for what your app actually uses. Payments, email, SMS and AI agents are usage-based, with each price shown before you switch the service on. So there is no fixed monthly bill: a quiet month costs little, a month of big sends and busy AI chat costs more.
The prices DashNex does publish#
| Item | Published price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Launching a business | 500 credits, once ($5) | Launch a Business |
| Value of a credit | 1 DNX = $0.01 USD | DashNex Credits |
| Email broadcast | 100 credits minimum, covering up to 1,000 recipients; 0.1 credits per extra email | Email Broadcasts |
| Transaction fee | 1% of the order plus a fixed fee per order (fixed part: check current pricing) | Credits & Top-ups |
| Cloud hosting | Cloudflare's rates for actual use (check current pricing) | DashNex pricing |
| AI, transactional email, SMS | Usage-based, shown before you turn it on (check current pricing) | DashNex pricing |
Here is the email line worked through. A weekly newsletter to 2,500 contacts uses the 100-credit minimum for the first 1,000, plus 1,500 × 0.1 = 150 credits for the rest. That is 250 credits, or $2.50, per send, and four sends a month come to about $10. Any send to 1,000 people or fewer is 100 credits.

Measure your own monthly burn, step by step#

- Save a card under Credits → Billing. It appears with its expiry date and a Default label. Gotcha: auto top-up always charges the default card, so check which one that is.
- Buy a starting balance with Buy credits. The balance pill at the top right updates straight away. Gotcha: the tier line under the packs is about discounts on bigger purchases, so don't let it talk you into more than a first month needs.
- Switch on auto top-up. Pick a pack and a threshold, then save; the panel shows On. Gotcha: set the threshold to about a week of your usage, not a token amount.

- Trade normally for 30 days. Your usual sends, checkouts and chat. Gotcha: change nothing halfway, or the month tells you little.
- Open Credits → Transactions for the last 30 days. The totals line shows credits charged and credits added. Gotcha: top-ups are listed too, so read the charged figure, not the change in balance.
- Click through the category tabs. Cloud, Transaction fees, Payouts & transfers: one of them carries most of your spend. Gotcha: transaction fees grow with sales, so a good month looks expensive here for a happy reason.
- Open a Cloud services row. You see infrastructure, AI usage, storage and email for that period. Gotcha: a busy AI agent or one large send can outweigh everything else.
- Note your monthly total and your heaviest week. Raise the auto top-up threshold to at least that week, and download the month's invoices from Credits → Payments. Gotcha: invoices cover what you paid DashNex, not what customers paid you.
Tiers and sales credits#
Buying more credits over 12 months earns a discount on services: Bronze at 50,000 credits (5%), Silver at 100,000 (10%), Gold at 250,000 (15%) and Platinum at 500,000 (20%). A tier never drops once reached. Most small businesses stay on Standard for a long while, and that is fine.
If customers pay you in DashNex Credits, the earnings land in a separate sales balance. Move them across with Money → Balances → Transfer to credits; transfers only go that way, and only credits move. Credits also do not expire, according to the DashNex Credits page, so a larger top-up is not lost in a quiet month.
Common mistakes#
- Budgeting from the launch fee. The 500 credits get the business live; running costs depend on traffic, sends and AI.
- Leaving auto top-up off. The docs don't say what happens at a zero balance. We would not find out on a live store.
- Reading the balance instead of the report. Top-ups and transfers move the balance too.
- Ignoring AI usage. A support agent that answers every visitor can become the largest line.
- Mixing up sales and business credits. Earnings don't pay for hosting until you transfer them.
How we set this up for clients#
When we hand a DashNex business over, we save the client's own card, turn on auto top-up at about one busy week, and book a 30-day check. On that call we open Transactions together, find the biggest category and decide whether anything needs tuning, such as a smaller send list or a tighter AI agent. Clients who need more than the built-in tools often add a custom module, and its credit cost goes into the same review. If you are cutting other tools at the same time, our SaaS audit worksheet shows where monthly fees usually hide.
FAQ#
Do DashNex credits expire?#
No. The DashNex Credits page says credits do not expire once they are bought or earned, and they stay in the account until used. Topping up a little more than one month needs carries no risk of losing the balance, which makes a generous auto top-up threshold a safe choice.
Does DashNex charge credits for email broadcasts?#
Yes. Each broadcast costs at least 100 credits, which covers up to 1,000 recipients, and every email beyond 1,000 costs 0.1 credits. DashNex shows the estimated cost before you schedule the send, so you can check a large send before it goes out.
How much is one DashNex credit worth?#
DashNex gives a fixed rate of 1 DNX to $0.01 USD, so 100 credits equal one dollar. The pricing page lists the $5 launch fee as 500 credits, which matches that rate. Check the pack prices when you buy, since packs and tier discounts can change.
What happens if my DashNex credit balance runs out?#
The docs don't spell it out. They recommend auto top-up so services are never interrupted, which suggests a zero balance can affect them. We set a threshold of at least one busy week for every client rather than finding out the hard way on a live business.
Can I use money from sales to pay for DashNex services?#
Yes, if customers paid you in DashNex Credits. Open Money → Balances and use Transfer to credits to move them into the business balance. Transfers only go from sales to the business balance, and only credits can be moved, not money held in other currencies.
